Ancient trees have long histories of supporting their ambitious, purposeful growth with flexibility and agility. They continuously extend their reach and range, yet at the same time sway and bend with the wind, shed and renew with the changing seasons, overcome adversity, and aim to thrive no matter what. How do they do this?
Their strongly grounded roots, which connect with and provide support to one another, provide substantial stability. Their ability to co-exist, merge with other living systems, and share their environment/ eco system, provides opportunities for evolution and synergies. Their ability to embrace seasonal or unforeseen change supports the ongoing process of renewal and growth.
As leaders and organizations, how can we learn from the stability and agility, the purposeful growth and connection, the sustainability and magnificent presence of these trees?
